THE SEARCH FOR DELAWARE
on august 19 2022 after spending a week at the beach and seeing so many license plates from varying states, i started to take interest in just how many there were, and decided on a whim to try and see if i could find at least one plate from all 50 states
after that initial week, progress was slow until moving to the city, at which point it exploded
eventually, progress plateaued, and for months alabama, delaware, mississippi, nebraska, and west virginia eluded me
in late winter 2023, i finally saw alabama, mississippi, nebraska, and west virginia. and then delaware eluded me. for months. until finally in july 2023 when i spotted one, making platequest 2023 officially complete

looking for and keeping track of the plates i've seen has been really really enjoyable in an odd way. it brings a sense of wonder to just normal walks or bus rides or the like. i genuinely get so excited to see plates i don't recognize and to point out ones i recognize from just a glance. I'm sure my friends really appreciate me constantly taking detours to go look at them.............
