this is Three Cheese. he was born at 4:30 in the morning in late December 2025 and I made him thinking "I will probably play this character for only a little bit so I'll just make a stupid guy whatever". now I have to see him every day or I'll hurt myself and others

admittedly... I am not very good at writing backstories! to me he does not have as much of a "story" pre-game. maybe I will come up with one someday. but for the time being at least I am more interested in thinking about how he feels about in-game events.

some general facts about him:

• race: Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te
• nameday: 23rd Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon
• primary job: Bard
• secondary jobs: Reaper, Dark Knight, Pictomancer, Botanist
• city-state: starts in Gridania, but he feels much more at home in Ishgard or the Crystarium
• guardian: technically Halone, but it doesn't mean anything to him

Three has a very strong and grounded sense of self. He does care about others' opinions of him, but not if he feels those opinions are incorrectly grounded. (When Zenos goes, "you and I are the same!", Three is the kind of guy to go, "what? no we're not" and mean it sincerely.)

He doesn't deny himself or what he feels - but he WILL push aside his own emotions for the sake of what must be done. He's the kind of guy to go "I'm fine, it's fine" - not because he's stuck in denial of his own emotions, but because he must push it aside to complete his duty as the Warrior of Light. Somebody has to do it, and it has to be him, and he can't do it if he's wallowing, can he?

He didn't set out to be the Warrior of Light or anything like that - he just sort of fell into it and, well, someone's always asking him to do something - he can't really say no, can he? Not when he's the only one that can do it, right? He's got a bad tendency to let himself be pushed around like this - to go along with whatever he's asked of.

He is much more motivated by those around him than by the notion of the larger picture - generally speaking, less "I must save the world" and more "I have to save my friends" (which luckily includes saving the world). Not to say he has no concept of the bigger picture, but it just factors into his decisionmaking less.

• he loves sweet treats. this guy is going to start just eating cookies mid dungeon
• he always has some stupid big ass hat on. any outfit without a stupid big ass hat is not canon to him. have you ever seen him without that stupid hat? that's weird.
• he's gay but he thought he was bi until he went to the Azim Steppe
  • he figures this out when one of the Mol says to him "you could have any woman you want!" and he's like "ohhhhh" but nobody else knows about this, all anyone else knows is that he met Hien on the Steppe so everyone thinks Hien just really, really rocked his world
• he has bad concepts of personal space. this guy will be talking to you and be inches away from you cause he just doesn't really get that that's kind of a faux pas

• he's grilling and chilling with the pixies, the ehcatl nine, and midgardsormr
• he likes men who are 1) pretty 2) nice to him 3) taller than him (the latter of which is most people)
• Sanson and Guydelot think he's their third. he's unaware of this
• though he gets better as time goes on, he has a bad tendency to zone out. generally he can come across as spacey or just generally strange. he's awful at small talk
• he would love Kate Bush
• he has high opinions of anyone who is good with children. his relationship with Alphinaud and Alisaie is "if anything happens to them I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself"
• He's Kitty. if you can think of a cat-like trait, he probably has it
